Confession

MH recently received this submission from a reader. At first, we hesitated to post it. It is neither a request for advice nor, as the writer admits, a story.

But we think it might have value as a way for our story writers to get a feel for the impact they have on the community, not only with their stories but with their attitudes when responding to those who comment on them. Those who contribute to the community mainly through comments receive appreciation here, as well.

Also, as this person seems to be equivocal on whether he should feel this way or not in that he calls what he wrote a confession, perhaps he is looking for some feedback from his peers on the matter.

First, thank you for this site; what a blessing!

The confession here is a simple one.

I really like the stories that are posted here by the women &/or the wives.  The stories by women/wives that use (or have) explicit sexual terms especially arouse me, and I like the sex-positive comments made by women in response to these stories.

It is especially arousing when the author of the story (wife/woman) engages in the comments section by responding to a husband/man who compliments said author on the story. I like that they are not offended by hearing that the story has either made the man horny or caused them to leave the story and masturbate as a result.

As the title of this "story" states, this is a confession; I am not being sarcastic.  I have titled this story as Confession because it is accurate and I thought this would make for engaging dialog going forward.

Am I the only one who feels this way?

Married Christian husband/father 15+ years

Is the God-honoring, hot monogamy message that MH hopes to spread appropriately represented by the comments and responses to the stories it publishes?

I like the communication. It's not like it's "cyber-sex" or anything like that. We just compliment each other's sex life with their own spouse, and i also like how some say certain stories give them ideas (myself included). MH also encourages that spouses know about you using MH, and my husband knows, and he's great about it! He even has input sometimes himself 🙂 no need to feel ashamed. God bless.

    • A Better Pastime says:

The communication is very enjoyable: indeed. "It's not like it's cybersex": great distinction! Thank you for your kindness ("no need to feel ashamed"). PS. I'm still rereading your "Lavender" story; the comment thread on that one is hall of fame comment thread from a titillating standpoint (borrowing PacMan's term on that one) God bless you too Harper! ☺️

Thank you MH for posting this and thank you to the contributor who wrote it.
My husband Ben and I have been with MH for quite a while now and feel this site has been a real blessing in our marriage. We have seen this site go through many changes and stand by the admins and their decisions on what the site should be.
The only thing I don't truly agree with and have mentioned this before, are the new comments regulations. I feel it takes away a readers ability to express how they truly feel about a story and how it affected them.
I for one often get really aroused by reading the wonderful stories that are submitted. And yes, sometimes while reading or after reading I will masturbate.
Don't get me wrong! I understand why the change. I just feel it takes a little away from the total MH experience.
In my opinion knowing how wet or hard someone may have gotten reading one of my stories adds that extra bit of eroticism that in turn excites me.
This is not a critisism, just my personal opinion.
To the writer of this post, no you are not the only one!

    • A Better Pastime says:

"In my opinion knowing how wet or hard someone may have gotten reading one of my stories adds that extra bit of eroticism that in turn excites me." This is exactly what I mean and I feel the exact same way about "those" kind of comments...moreso when they are comments posted by the female, and/or the female author in positive response to the male commentor. Thank you so much for the encouragement GG! From your comment at least I know that I am not the only one. 😉

  3. TexasCouple says:

    I love this comment/post.

For the most part, we're reading about married couples engaging in sexually intimate behavior. It's basically Song of Solomon in the 21st century. If you don't think there was a slew of people sitting around rubbing one out over his writing back in the day, I'd suggest otherwise.

Masturbation is our way of releasing sexual feelings as opposed to holding them inside. Just like every other feeling we have: happiness, sadness, joyfulness, etc. These feelings grab a hold, fill us up and get released in some way.

In our opinion, you're married. Don't physically venture outside the marriage with another person and you're good. Leave the slippery slope arguments for those with no self-control. Remember when you're reading these stories, they're nothing more than stimulus, like an attractive man that walks by through the course of the day or some hot celebrity you saw on TV. You aren't going to have sex with these people in real life, nor do you desire to.

    • A Better Pastime says:

Very insightful psychological perspective TexasCouple! ("Masturbation is our way of releasing sexual feelings as opposed to holding them inside. Just like every other feeling we have: happiness, sadness, joyfulness, etc. These feelings grab a hold, fill us up and get released in some way.") Makes me proud to hear that this "comment/post" was appreciated by anyone let alone affording someone the ability to provide their individual insights on the topic of discussion. Really great insights TexasCouple; really appreciated!

    • A Better Pastime says:

"Sometimes I just read for the enjoyment of what God has created." There is nothing on planet earth like a couple in the throes of peak sexual arousal...nothing. I couldn't agree with you more ArtRutherford. Thank you! 🙂

  4. PacMan says:

Is this site titillating? Yes. Are the stories erotic and sexy? Yes. Do many folks get aroused while reading? Yes. Do some use these stories as an aid or inspiration for masturbation? Yes.

None of this is shocking. Some will enjoy ONLY the surface level of this site, which is the eroticism and titillation. Just like some will go to a 5-Star Resort and just use it to sleep for the night (never taking advantage of all the resort has to offer). Just like the resort’s room accommodations, this site should never skimp on eroticism and titillation. But to those who explore there is so much more...

This site is a safe place for Christians to anonymously cultivate a sex-positive attitude. Both the stories and comments allow people to share some hidden inner feelings, sometimes the only place those thoughts can be shared. It also can be a source of inspiration to improve the sexual and non-sexual areas of marriage. Plus it’s a growing and caring community, willing to help and advise. So, getting boners and stuff... yes... true... but that’s just the surface.

    • A Better Pastime says:

"Titillating": what a perfect term PacMan. Truly, I find the comment thread exchanges to be the most "titillating". I've gotten to the point where the stories that I read are based on the number of the comments on a story: the more comments the better being the assumption. The stories are great, but like GG said ("I feel it takes away a readers ability to express how they truly feel about a story and how it affected them."). Given that these stories (while some or most are true and non-fiction), they are mostly fantasy for the reader, or the consumer. The comments have what feel like that "raw-true-reality" element to the story and can also seem to spark a bit of a "feeding frenzy" in terms of many individual's sexual response to the story. Sometimes I think that the comments are the hottest read on the entire site. All that to say that, I love what you said ("This site is a safe place for Christians to anonymously cultivate a sex-positive attitude. Both the stories and comments allow people to share some hidden inner feelings, sometimes the only place those thoughts can be shared."). Very supportive...almost forgiving. Thank you PacMan!

  5. TexasCouple says:

I think I missed the point from the original confession...you seemed to say that when the women get involved in the story writing and the commenting that you find it arousing. I assume you mean, moreso than when the men comment. To that end, I agree, as would my wife.

On more than one occasion, I have seen my wife reading Harper, CHL and HornyGG's stories with a dildo in use. Sometimes I just sit on the bed and read them to her...one after another.

    • A Better Pastime says:

("I assume you mean, moreso than when the men comment") Ding, ding! You get the prize TexasCouple. ;-> Pretty darn hot to hear that BOTH you and your wife agree.

("On more than one occasion, I have seen my wife reading Harper, CHL and HornyGG's stories with a dildo in use. Sometimes I just sit on the bed and read them to her…one after another.")

      Ultra-hot TexasCouple...wow! 🙂 Thank you!

  6. Alicia G. M. says:

    Thank you for posting.
I love MH and yes it inspires me to enjoy sex with my husband Trey in new and exciting ways. I will admit however that I also use the stories for masturbation purposes.
The stories written by both the men and the ladies of this site really turn me on. I can see where stories written by women of this site is so enticing. You generally do not hear women, especially Christian women express themselves sexually like they do on this site.
I love reading Mrs. Harper's, CHL and other female contributors stories and get really aroused by them.
I can't tell you the amount of times that I have read one of Mrs. Harper's wonderful stories and masturbated to orgasm afterwards.
Like many I do miss the more erotic and honest comments. Anyway, God bless!

    • A Better Pastime says:

Thank you Alicia, wow...what a truly open and transparent response. I may be interpreting your comment/response that way because you are female (Christian and married); I think I just tend to expect it from the men and am intriguingly surprised when it comes from a woman.
What a blessing (and truly loving) wife you are to your husband and your marriage ("I love MH and yes it inspires me to enjoy sex with my husband Trey in new and exciting ways"). Thank you so much for ALL of your response: very intriguing, and yes even enticing to contemplate...thank you Alicia! God bless!

  7. Happy Husband says:

I have to admit, there are some stories that really get me going, and most of them involve when the MH wife is masturbating for or with her man. When I think about those stories, I absolutely put my beautiful wife into the picture and wish it was a story about us. She has only done it a few times, but I masturbate to those memories and the MH word pictures with her in them often. I also admit I enjoy reading about MH wives who give oral and enjoy their man's taste, once again, wishing it was my own. On that point, she is "cumming" around. So, are these things wrong? I don't think so one bit, and seeing posts from wives who admit that they like those things too is an encouragement, not a sin.

    • A Better Pastime says:

@Happy Husband I have seen many of your comments on this site, and you are always the same as you sound like you love your wife with the most endearing heart. Thank you so much for your example and your transparency, throughout. This portion of your comment really struck me ("So, are these things wrong? I don't think so one bit, and seeing posts from wives who admit that they like those things too is an encouragement, not a sin."). Thank you for your conviction, it is an inspiration to me personally. Looking forward to reading through more of your comments on more of these stories in future Happy Husband! God Bless! 🙂

  8. Victor0884 says:

I have to admit that I get aroused reading about when a wife is taking it good from her husband and it is usually a woman who wrote the story. Yes I masturbate afterwards but I don’t think it is sinful as I am not thinking about them. I am thinking of my own wife.

    • A Better Pastime says:

Thank you Victor! I couldn't agree with you more ("I have to admit that I get aroused reading about when a wife is taking it good from her husband and it is usually a woman who wrote the story.") those are the hottest stories to me too. The comments on a given story by a woman that express the same in celebration, especially when sprinkled with (L) language are incredibly arousing; I'm almost more aroused by those than what was in the story. This is one of the stories on this site that I think both you and I are talking about, as an example: "Freedom to Masturbate – Sex in the Fifties". The story "Wanting Him So Badly…" is another great example. Thank you for your comment and response Victor!

  9. A Better Pastime says:

My sincerest gratitude in thankful response to MH for posting this "story". Thank you to everyone who has responded: your comments are more than I expected by far. Each one of your comments has given me an almost sense of relief. With this "sense of relief" (for lack of a better term), I almost feel like wanting to say that I'm just tired of "feeling like a pervert". You can say that I'm one of those who was raised to feel that way for even saying the word "sex": God forbid! ;-> The thought of that, now, following these comments in response makes me smile and almost want to laugh out loud.

  10. Old Lover says:

The very title of this site, Marriage Heat, intends to elicit a sexual response for the reader and writer. It would surprise me if anyone reading or writing on MH did not experience sexual arousal at some point or some degree. I confess that well-written, explicitly erotic accounts that celebrate marriage heat as God intended turn me on. As I reflect on ABP’s question, my confession is that, ‘yes, stories and interactive comments by women do intensify my sexual arousal to the point of a desire and need to masturbate.’ When I do, it is always with my Anne’s voice in my mind and ear.

    • A Better Pastime says:

Thank you Old Lover! After reading this portion of your comment ("As I reflect on ABP’s question, my confession is that, ‘yes, stories and interactive comments by women do intensify my sexual arousal to the point of a desire and need to masturbate."), I feel that I could have reduced my entire story down to the following single sentence: "stories and interactive comments by women greatly intensify my sexual arousal". You are an incredibly articulate thinker! Also, I find that I really like the acronym "ABP". 🙂 Thank you for your support and kind sentiments Old Lover! God bless!

  11. TexasCouple says:

I keep reading comments about those using these prompts to think about their spouse. Eh, I get it, but I think it’s leaving a lot of creativity on the sideline and buying into the slippery slope argument and that fantasy mandates some sort of covenant breaking action.

Maybe we’re different than most couples, but we’ve kinda always subscribed to the mantra “why waste a good fantasy about something/someone you can do everyday,” meaning your spouse. Take what you read and play it out in your bedroom with your spouse. Let these sexual prompts, stories, take your brain into a sexually creative atmosphere. When you fantasize, you are every person in the fantasy...you control it in a way that brings you the greatest sexual pleasure. No one in that fantasy is interacting with you. It’s a figment, a prompt...like a story.

Could be wrong minded and a fringe opinion, but when we read these stories, we both let our brains run wild and use them to conjure up all sorts of fantasy situations. More often than not they don’t include each other.

    • A Better Pastime says:

Love this response TexasCouple! That said, we are having a difficult time understanding. We think we understand based on your last sentence. Would you be able to give us an example of what you and your wife are doing when you say ("but when we read these stories, we both let our brains run wild and use them to conjure up all sorts of fantasy situations. More often than not they don’t include each other")? Looking forward to your response!

    • TexasCouple says:

We don't fantasize about each other, or very rarely.

We use these stories as a basis for fanatasies, usually involving someone other than our spouse doing something we would never do in real life.

    • A Better Pastime says:

@TexasCouple - Based on this portion of your last reply:

"We use these stories as a basis for fantasies, usually involving someone other than our spouse doing something we would never do in real life."

Are the two of playing out the same fantasy with each other, or are each of you playing out a different fantasy in your own minds? Are the two of you having sex while playing out these fantasies (in your mind as you say)? Also, do the two of you verbalize to that "someone other than our spouse" while having sex with each other?

We verbalize a great deal during sex, and our "dirty talking" is usually spoken in a way in which we are speaking to someone other than our spouse. We are not necessarily fantasizing about someone other than our spouse at those moments, but the "3rd party" nature of the "dirty talking" makes it feel like we are speaking to someone other than our spouse. This is a huge turn-on for the both of us.

Looking very forward to your response.

      Thank you TexasCouple!

      Scott & Michelle

  12. ATrain says:

Well, I tend to be an outlier from the general consensus here, but I think you are on to something, ABP. Getting aroused by another woman who is not your wife describing her arousal and/or masturbation is opening up some difficult territory. Does your wife know about these experiences, and if not, how would she feel about it if she did?
Again, I’ll probably get some vocal opposition here but I think it’s at least worth a pause.

    • A Better Pastime says:

Hello ATrain; thank you so much for your kind response. No worries at all; thank you for your courage. You're simply asking a question, and thoughtful question that bears asking: nothing wrong with that at all! It was my wife (Michelle) who thought that I should post the story ("Confession") as while we were both reading these stories together she noticed my increasing affinity for the comments. Moreover, her observation was that I was starting to just skim the story and jump straight the comments; spending more time contemplating the comments and the dialog between the commenters. Her observation being that my discussion with her regarding a story was more discussion about the comments and especially any dialog that would transpire between commenters. Specifically, she observed that my thoughts introspection on a story were as much, and more, about a dialog between male/female commenters. She then asked the simple question as to "why do you like the comments so much?". Thinking about that for only a moment, I responded because it's arousing; they "turn me on". We then spent a long time discussing this dynamic with each other, trying to categorize all of the variables in an attempt to get to the catalyzing root element. Our attempt there being that to look deeper (under the hood) at the catalyzing root element to determine what about the root-element is in play itself from a scriptural relationship. That was the point where Michelle said that I should post it here on MH. In this dialog, between us here in this comment thread, Michelle and I want to ask whether the Shulamite woman in song of Songs (when describing her arousal) and reading what arouses her is any different than what you have described in opening up "some difficult territory"? This question to you is not in opposition of your comment whatsoever, but is the very same question that Michelle and I have in discussion with each other all the time. Song of Songs itself, while not difficult territory, can open up difficult territory all on its own. Coveting your thoughts and looking forward to your response. Thank you ATrain!

I’m late to comment on this. But I resonate with this post. I’m highly aroused by the stories, men & women write on here. And to be honest this site has saved me countless times from turning to pornography. There’s times I’ve wanted to express, my true, deep responses to the writers & mainly towards the female writers but I’ve held back in fear that I’ll be perceived as a creep or just some hornbag looking to be sleazy. When that’s not the case. I’m just genuinely grateful that I was able to be apart of watching the writers truly express real intimacy & that’s is something I highly crave in the future. Not just the cumming & scenarios. But I’ll respect the guidelines of MH.
