The Frame

“So, do you like this tuxedo shirt on me?” she asks about the only garment that adorned her.

“It’s not the shirt,” I say, waiting for my mind to form words that express my admiration’s true nature. “The shirt is merely a frame.” I trace my fingers around the edges of the “frame.”

“When the Artist creates a masterpiece, the canvas is held on an easel of some sort.” I sweep back the ‘frame’ a bit to allow my hands all-access to her bare skin.

“He painstakingly considers, layers, and shapes each detail of the masterpiece.” My fingertips trace my favorite curves.

“The Artist takes as much time as needed to perfect every detail.” My hand flattens out to cover more space with each movement.

“When He completes the masterpiece, the Artist steps back and sees the entire piece as a whole for the first time.” My second hand joins the first as I explore the entirety of her flesh ever so gently.

“The Artist creates the masterpiece so that it stands alone, bare, with unfinished edges. The entire masterpiece must be taken in at once.” From head to toe, I caress each inch with palms and fingertips.

“The frame is not made by the Artist. It is added later.” I pull the edges of the “frame” back to cover the sides of the masterpiece, leaving only individual curves available to my view.

“The frame changes the viewer’s perspective of the masterpiece.” Fingers once again trace the edges of the “frame” as I admire the curves still available.

“With the frame obscuring certain portions of the masterpiece, the viewer can focus on a smaller portion—take in the details.” My kisses fall, soft and careful, upon the focal point.

“The viewer can catch a glimpse of the Artist’s painstaking attention to each detail of the masterpiece.” My kisses and fingertips become less careful now.

“The frame provides a transition between the Artist’s masterpiece and its meager surroundings.” The “frame” is swept away for unrestricted access.

“Do I like the tuxedo shirt you’re wearing? Yes… and no.”

Hi Keystone Jack! I’m an artist so your poem was intriguing. I also LOVE to see my wife in lingerie and to undress her slowly when she is wearing it. Although your poem was about your wife in a shirt… I visualized my wife in her lingerie. You wrote something very unique. Thanks!

Keystone Jill is an artist. She is also very nicely put together by the Artist.

Yes. It's unique. I didn't set out to write a poem. It came out that way. Judging by the rating, some folks prefer a little more sexual content. That's OK. I wrote it for her. I'm just sharing it here.

You're welcome. And thank you! I think many times our wives need help seeing themselves through our eyes.
