We have really enjoyed the free app “Signal”. You can send text, photo, gif, or videos and it’s end-to-end encrypted (safe from hackers). You can also set a timer on your messages so they “auto delete”. So if I was sexting with my wife and sharing photos and videos, you could set it to completely erase, say, 5, 10, 30 mins after viewing. That way a little kid won’t see the sexy messages the next day, even if they open the Signal App.

How do you set Signal up to automatically delete? We started using it after reading about it here, but have not been able to find that in the settings.
First, both ends have to be using Signal on secure mode. Then you click on the three vertical dots in the upper right- hand corner and select "disappearing messages " from the drop- down menu. From there it should be self evident. Note: thst is on android version 8.0. Not sure how you do it on an iPhone.
I didn’t think Signal was free? I must be thinking of a different app. On the iPhone I can use dropmail directly to his phone if he has that function turned on and I’m close by. Sometime I do that so I don’t screw up and send to the wrong person.
