Estelline

The wind swept over the grass, stirring the scent of a thousand prairie flowers

Her hair bounced in the breeze, curls unfurling like a flag flying high

I took her hand and we ran

The sun shined down upon us, and the horizon seemed to be endless

I felt my heart pounding, strong and brave and free

Estelline

The cold wind took my hat away from me

Just like she stole my heart

I held her in my lap

We shared some tiger meat

And then, we kissed

The kiss blossomed and exploded into a thousand rays of orange light

As the sunset shone all around us

The soft shadows lengthening

The old buildings

The familiar houses

Of Estelline

One day we will return

I will show our children

They will discover the haunting beauty I’ve found long ago

Estelline

One day, I will breathe my last

As she holds my hand

The tears in her eyes

The crucifix held close to my heart

As I fly away

But when that day comes,

Bury me

In Estelline

NorthernSky, this is a lovely poem. I gotta ask, is this Estalline, South Dakota or Estalline, Texas? In any case, it sounds like an ode to where you met your wife – & perhaps a salute to your hometown.

If it’s a salute to your hometown ya might not want to answer my above question – to preserve your anonymity. I suppose it’s possible that Estalline is a place you visited family &/or while on vacation- & you loved the peaceful rural prairie scenery. I feel that way about where my wife is from.

I read you were eating Tiger 🐅 meat 🥩 . That threw me off. I can’t imagine you were eating an endangered species. I wondered if Estelline was on the African savanna. But then I remembered that tigers 🐅 🐅live in Asia, not Africa.

So, I looked up tiger meat. As you know what it is I’m explaining this to other MH readers who like me, are or were clueless about tiger meat.

Tiger meat is heavily seasoned ground beef 🐄 or ground venison 🦌. It has
    cayenne pepper 🌶️, tobasco sauce,
onions 🧅, garlic 🧄, salt, raw egg 🥚, and black pepper. Tiger 🐅 meat 🥩 is served on crackers. I suspect that it is an acquired taste. 🤤

The Editors should collect and publish the erotic poetry written for this site. It would sell. There is an unfortunate dearth of good erotic poetry. Not all is great of course, but it’s all interesting.
