True for me and my wife. She doesn't seem to have any interest in sex at all and never really did which really sucks for me. Feels like I'm married to my sister and not my wife.
I think this calls for a "Raid of the Dawn Patrol". Sometimes back when intimacy was lacking, especially when kids were young, I would stow my desire for her from the night before and I would literally just take her early in the morning before the kids could claim her attention. For me it meant that I still desired her as I did when we were first married and I needed to express that to her in no uncertain terms.
We've been married for almost 40 years and I remember some really memorable sexual adventures early on, but nothing can compare to the level of intimacy and adventure that takes place when we are together now. I think we've been lucky to some degree as just before and after menopause, my wife's libido accelerated rather than diminished, which had the effect of increasing the level of intimacy on a personal level.
The main point I'm trying to make is that the really good stuff you read about on this website doesn't just happen, it is the result of personal investment not easily found in today's 30 second sound bite world. I don't even know how I got to this place with my favorite person, but I'm grateful for the forgiveness and faith she has given me in return.
After we had been dating about a year and a half, her mother counciled her that as she was only 17, she might want to slow things down a bit and have the chance to see meet other people before getting in a serious relationship. She took her mothers advice and told me that she wanted to stop seeing me exclusively. I told her that I understood and that I would miss her terribly. Which I did for about a day, when she came to see me at my house and said that she didn't need to meet anyone else because she knew that I was what she wanted.
All I've ever wanted is to grow old with her, which I'm now doing, in a very ungraceful manner.

We need to stop acting like the Devil invented sex.
