Anniversary Getaway

I started to plan a surprise for my wife of 11 years about a month before our actual anniversary.  We had a two year old at the time and as most know it takes its toll on the marriage when your entire life revolves around the kids.  Well, for my idea to work I knew I would need to arrange babysitting so we could get away.  I put my plan into action, working with grandma and grandpa to watch the baby over the weekend and set the surprise up.  I called and made a reservation at a hotel in Catalina.  My wife is a native southern California girl and had never been to Catalina at 39 years young.  I then set it up to have everything pre-packed to take with us.  I arranged with all our family and friends the details so they would know it was a secret and not to let it out of the bag.  As the date approached it became more and more difficult to keep it a secret.  She started to get suspicious.

I kept making things up to throw her off the scent.  The night before we were supposed to leave, I packed the car with the bags we needed for the weekend (while she wasn’t looking), planned a get together at her parent’s house for games and fun and had grandma ask our son if he wanted a sleepover.  That left us free to go enjoy an evening at home.  Well, it was late when we got home so we ended up going right to bed.  As we climbed into bed I started to set the alarm and she asked me why.  I told her that I had a surprise for her but we had to be on the road by 5:30 a.m.  She wanted to know where we were going but I told her it was a surprise and I wasn’t going to tell her.  The next morning we got up and got on the road to head for the marina.  She was asking me all kinds of questions trying to find out where we were going.  I kept giving her hints but would not tell her any details.

As we got into Long Beach we got to the Catalina Express and she then knew where we were going.  I paid for the upgrade in order to sit in the captain’s cabin so she could have a better view.  We got on board the boat and we were off to the island.  We went out and enjoyed a little of the ocean breeze which was very relaxing.  Once we got to the island we found the shuttle to our hotel and proceeded to get our bags unloaded.  When we got to our hotel it was nice.  There was a very large bathtub, full kitchen, master bedroom and there was even a Murphy bed if we wanted to have guests.  We spent the morning window shopping and strolling along the main street just enjoying each others company, talking about our lives in general, doing a little dream building, etc.  We went and had lunch and did some “people watching” which is something we both enjoy doing.  We had a really great time just walking around enjoying the atmosphere and the sights.  As evening approached we went and had dinner and watched the sunset.

We then decided it was time to head back to hotel for a quiet evening.  We got back to the hotel and I had brought bubble bath and body paints to enjoy in the oversized tub.  I ran the bath and got out the body paints.  We began to paint each other’s bodies with assorted shapes and designs.  It became very intimate and arousing.  As things began to heat up the paint began to “mix” and things became a lot more intimate.  As the passion rose we began sensually feeling each other’s bodies and exploring erogenous zones to pleasure each other deeply.  Once we were both completely satisfied sexually we then began to dry each other off and proceeded into the bedroom where we snuggled up next to one another and fell asleep in each other’s arms.  All the planning for this “surprise trip” was well worth it.  It gave our marriage a new spark that had been waning in recent years.  I can’t wait for the next trip.
