How To Join Songs of the Believers?
Hey all. I’m not sure if this is the right place to ask, but does anyone know why I can’t join the community Songs of the Believers? I filled out the questionnaire twice and got nothing. Is there any way I can get hold of them directly and figure this out?
From MH: For clarification, Songs of the Believers is not part of MarriageHeat. But many of our authors and commenters have found it a good resource, and some of its moderators occasionally comment here. We hope one of them can shed light on the status of SoTB and the application process for the benefit of our readers.

I’ve tried multiple times and no go. I’m on Reddit and follow some Christian pages similar to this. Same user name, john81176 if you need to talk etc
John, we can’t find you, but you’re welcome to try to find ours, also the same username!
I am on Reddit too. What are the names of the groups you have found that are similar
On Reddit too! Would love to to connect more!

I'd also be interested in hearing what sorts of reddits exist. Haven't found much myself.
As I’ve mentioned, I don’t know how they do approvals, or why some don’t get responded to. It’s quite possible you applied at heavier times, and they couldn’t keep up and it slipped through the cracks. I would try again. A couple of new members were added this week. I know personal emails are not allowed in comments, but this is their official business email: songs-of-the-believers@mn.co. No guarantees on how often they check that inbox, it’s mostly used for automated messages being sent.
I’ve had the same problem! I’ve requested 3 times now
I think one problem is that we are used to thinking of internet sites as "businesses" with income and staff, etc. when most spaces involving sex-positive Christianity are just a few volunteers trying to make something they want to exist. So they have jobs and kids and illness and vacations and life challenges… and not a lot of time to do all the things it takes to make "it" (whatever it is) happen.
I believe I was told when I joined that the whole idea was to make sure it grew slowly enough that the volunteers weren't overwhelmed by moderation and that they wanted to try and somewhat balance the male to female ratio. I don't know if that is still true. Then there is the issue of trying to vet applicants and keep their community safe from predators or those who just want to use others, not truly discuss sex and help each other build sex-positive marriages. I imagine it's not an easy job.
All that said, I don't have any advice except to wait patiently, and if you reapply, be clear about your intentions.
Megan, I don't recall seeing yours – certainly not three times.
Reddit has a variety of topics and there are some very good Christian Sexuality groups. There are also, because it’s an open platform, NSFW groups. I think adults can navigate through them on their own and see what works best for them. My username is the same on there as it is here, if you’d like any help or recommendations.
Don't Quit.
Looks like they have just approved 7 new members in the last 3 days, so maybe they are finally catching up on those pending applications.
No doubt that everyone has a life and SOTB is a free atmosphere (no cost to participants); however, it would be nice to at least use an automated response; don’t just leave folks hanging out in cyberspace.
What is Reddit about?
Marge, it's a platform—like FaceBook or other social media—where people start different "pages" (called subreddits and always preceded by a r/) on any subject imaginable. A given subreddit can have many different threads. It's kind of like what we called online bulletin boards in the old days.
Reddit is an American social news aggregation, web content rating, and discussion website. Registered members submit content to the site such as links, text posts, images, and videos, which are then voted up or down by other members.
Hope this helps.
Hey everyone! A couple things:
– We have had literally dozens of applications. About 30 or more to shift though but all are since August. We don't like to add all at once as we like to see if people come on and fit in as we've had issues with trolls.
– We are volunteers and really only a couple of us handle the applications at that.
– We do not approve every application. If the answers are one word or two, we don't approve them. We take it seriously. 80% we accept but we also look for signs that are troll like.
– We've approved some which have gone stale. That means, the system sent the person back an invite, but they never accept it. Eventually the system stops. We've even e-mailed a couple folks who really wanted to join, but they never replied.
So hope that helps.
As a follow up, I just checked the list and approved a few – but there are like 20 out there that are pending acceptance from the applicant, and then a bunch more than went stale.
I requested to join the SOTB platform and got added 2 days later… All I did was to answer their questions genuinely, nothing else
Are you currently accepting new members?
Come on readers.
Lets chat – join me on Songs of the Believers.
May I post the link?

It was my understanding that they weren't accepting new members, and while I see a "sign in" option, I don't see a "sign up" one…
That's no good.
I have sent him a message.
Commenting to follow as I have very much benefited from chatting with similar minded sex positive believers.
Songs of the Believers, Strength & Patience said they had a problem with a Troll a few years ago.
The network host MightyNetworks advised invite only.
Which means we need your email.
Can't do that here on MH.
If you can find me on another forum, I may help, but I will make you jump through a few hoops to prove you are real – to protect both me and SotB.
As a hint, I have used SarahFrigs elsewhere. I will not give the names of other websites.
God bless your search.
Sarah K
I would love to be on SOTB. Is it Sarah Frig or Sarah frigs with an s at the end?
"sarahfrigs"
Just a word of warning on that website, it is a story based website. There are quite a few acceptable masturbation stories (that is its theme), also some married sex. But there are also stories of illicit sex, fornication, adultery, group, same sex, etc, but you are not there to read them, you are there to find me.
I note NorthernSky's comment: https://marriageheat.com/2022/05/02/other-sex-discussion-forums-besides-mh/#comment-67136
It is valid.
On 14 year olds,
Most are getting horny, are thinking or sex, are masturbating themselves and will have seen porn. If your 14 year old is not talking to you about sex etc., you can bet they are getting their knowledge from the world, and a lot of it will not be good. As parents we are to have laid the groundwork for their curiosity long before 14.
Your child watching porn is not the end of the world, they have a curiosity that we adults still have, that is why we have MH, we want to see what healthy Christian sex lives are outside our own.
I have heard a few experts say that algorithms are set to target young people with extreme porn, rape, bestiality, stuff that would upset us The algorithms deliberately do not show them to us, so we don't realise the garbage our kids are getting. If we don't teach our children what normal, healthy, Christian sex is, you can be sure they will have a badly distorted idea of it.
If your 14 year old, even 12 and 10 year old is not talking to you about sex, you have a problem that you may not even be aware of – talk to your kids, it is our duty as parents, and as Christians. Our duty, not the state, not the church, they can help, but it is our duty to teach our own kids.
(My adult children still come to talk to us).
God bless
