I have a couple sets of simple silicon ass plugs that I got off Amazon.
I have some that are conical-shaped and others that are more tapered towards the tip and larger towards the base. I like the conical ones best. They are stiffer and I can place more pressure on my prostate.
Bigger is better to a point. Out of the set of four, I can get the third-biggest one in, but usually go with the second. The third takes some patience, and I can be a bit sore afterwards. I have a vibrating one also, but it is simply too big.

Having had prostate problems, I have considered some of the things that have been written here. But, I still think that anal penetration is wrong — equally for both men and women. The prostate can also be massaged via pressure on the perineum (the area that, on women, is nicknamed the "taint"), although the pressure is not as direct.
There are a variety of toys that are designed for perineal pressure on the prostate. The one that I have considered buying is shaped like a large "S-hook" (such as one might see in an old-fashioned Italian cheese shop). The toy is made of plastic, and it has balls (about the size of golf balls) on each end. One ball vibrates, the other is the grip and contains the control. I researched it months ago, but I seem to recall that it costs about $75 or so. (And, as I recall, I found it on the toy site that MH recommends.)
Although I suspect that it could induce some pleasure, my main purpose in researching it was to break up whatever type of blockage is somewhere in my "plumbing". I've heard the near-mythical tales of prostate orgasms, and how men can theoretically have multiple of them back to back. Unfortunately I haven't achieved those myself, although I felt like I got close a few times. KM I'm sorry I missed this post initially!!! As something of an anal veteran I'd like to chime in if it's not too late.
First of all if you like the sensation of using a cucumber, then a dildo is a good buy. There are certainly lots of different sizes/shapes out there! I would just caution you to make sure it's designed for anal play (a flared base, non-porous material). And remember that you get what you pay for! It's far better to spend more and get something quality from a reputable company than buy something cheap: off the top of my head I have heard a lot of good things from Tantus and Bad Dragon. You might also go to Hey Epiphora's site and read an article called "Your Vagina Deserves Better: The Case against Toxic Sex Toys." The anus is very thin and can absorb a lot of things into the body bypassing the usual filters like the liver and kidneys.
The thing about dildos is that they are by nature larger, and if you're at all worried about your wife finding it, then the Aneros is a far better option! Aneros' parent company is High Island Health which originally designed the prostate massagers as a patented health tool to help with BPH, etc, and still sells them that way. So not only is it going to be far more concealable than a dildo, if your wife ever did find your Aneros, you could tell her something like your doctor said you had an enlarged prostate and recommended it to you to help.
